Are you interested in helping seniors in our community remain in their homes and enjoy their later years to the fullest extent possible? If you are, please consider joining the Board of Directors of CANES Community Care.

CANES provides important services to individuals who come from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and is particularly seeking a candidate who can represent that diversity. Although previous Board experience is beneficial, CANES welcomes applications from candidates who are interested in furthering their development on a volunteer Board of Directors. We also encourage current or former clients and/or clients’ families to respond to this opportunity.

CANES mission is to “Provide outstanding support and care services that enhance the lives of our clients, enabling them to remain home and in their community.” We provide a variety of home care services in addition to other services such as transportation, friendly visitations, and behavioural supports in the west Toronto and surrounding areas.

CANES is an equal opportunity employer. We promote diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and volunteers. CANES Nonprofit Organization is committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all board members, staff, volunteers, and members feel respected and valued regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation or identity, disability, education, or any other bias. We’re committed to being nondiscriminatory and providing equal opportunities for employment, volunteering, and advancement in all areas of our work.

We respect the value that diverse life experiences bring to our board and leadership, and we strive to listen to their views and give them value.

We’re committed to modeling diversity, inclusion, and equity and maintaining fair and equal treatment for all.

If you are interested in helping seniors in our community by providing leadership and direction in a time of expanding need and have the experience we are looking for, please submit your resume to Winnie Lam, winnie.lam@canes.on.ca

Help CANES achieve its vision for people in our community to “Live Well, Age Well – with CANES Community Care.”
