How this service works: 

Anyone aged 55 and over residing in Etobicoke, Brampton, Malton, Woodbridge, and the surrounding areas. CANES provides you with trustworthy individuals for all your home maintenance needs (house, apartment, or condo). We offer a certified technician who will perform a free home safety inspection and assist you with any issues, big or small.

 

How to request this service: 
Call the CANES Home Maintenance Team at 416-743-3892, extension 247. We offer free grab bar installation!

 

Fee: 

Clients are responsible for their own material costs (paint, cleaning products, etc.).

Depending on the nature of the work, most of our services are billed hourly. Clients are responsible for their own material costs (paint, cleaning products, etc.).

It is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the City of Toronto.

Any person aged 65 and over, or any adult residing in one of the following CANES assisted living facilities

How this service works: 

Personal support workers (PSWs) provide personal care, housekeeping, and 24/7 emergency response services to seniors living in their own apartments in the designated buildings mentioned above. Residents of apartment buildings with personal support services maintain a strong sense of community.

How to request this service: 

Tenants of the buildings mentioned above: please contact the CANES senior citizens' residences office at 416-743-3892.

Seniors not residing in these buildings: For information on available housing, please contact the Toronto Community Housing Corporation. You can also contact them at (416) 981-5500 or visit their website for more information. http://www.torontohousing.ca/rent

Fee: 

Our PSWs are available days an evenings and are required to work at least 2 hours per shift.

HOMECARE SAFE Program

CANES Community Care has a adapted a new program at CANES that focuses around Client and Employee Safety.

The HOMECARE SAFE Program will promote safety throughout CANES' current services that are provided to seniors as well as to the Personal Support Workers and employees who provide them to our clients.

Many Services that fall heavily under the HOMECARE SAFE Program are as follows;

CANES met à votre disposition des personnes de confiance pour tous vos travaux d'entretien à domicile (maison, appartement ou condo).

Nous vous proposons un technicien certifié qui effectuera une inspection de sécurité gratuite de votre domicile et vous assistera pour tout problème, petit ou grand.
