What is Respite Care?

Our caregivers provide support to seniors aged 65 and over, with or without disabilities, who require assistance from a family caregiver. This support allows family caregivers to enjoy some free time, whether at home or elsewhere.

Family members are often very busy and need respite to spend time with their loved ones.

Who can use this service:

Any person aged 55 and over who requires daily assistance and receives care from a family member or other caregiver.

The client must reside in the vicinity of Etobicoke, Brampton, Malton or Woodbridge.

How this service works:

A regular schedule will be established, generally with the same personal support worker(s) visiting on the agreed-upon day and time each week. Visits must last a minimum of two hours. Occasional respite visits can be arranged.

Home support and personal care services are offered to the client in conjunction with our respite care service.

Please contact our office; a home care coordinator will visit you to conduct a free assessment. We will develop a personalized care plan by discussing the individual needs of the client and their chosen caregivers or family members.

Fee:

Our PSW's are required to work at least 2 hours per shift.
